Cutting Stock Access Tracks for Bog or Wetland Management

The aim of this item is to maintain or improve the quality of bog habitat by removing dwarf shrubby plants such as bog myrtle by flailing or strimming the vegetation.

This will allow more even and effective grazing across the site.

Land with lowland bog or wetland is eligible.

This item must be undertaken with one of the following options:

You must show the location of the proposed access tracks on a map.

  • you must cut the vegetation to create a track at least one metre wide
  • you must not cause vehicle tracking
  • you must maintain a diary
  • you must keep photographic evidence of the site before and after treatment as part of your claim

You can claim £1.57 per linear metre cut.

The inspectors will check:

  • the location and extent of the work
  • you have cut the vegetation to create a track at least one metre wide
  • you have not caused vehicle tracking
  • you have maintained a diary
  • you have kept photographic evidence of the site before and after treatment as part of your claim
