This is available as support for the restocking of sites that have been cleared as part of the Chalara ash dieback or Phytophthora ramorum (P. ramorum) outbreaks.
Restocking of P. ramorum sites must be done with a diverse conifer or broadleaved species. Stocking densities must be 1600 trees per hectare for broadleaves, and 2500 trees per hectare for conifer species.
Restocking of Chalara ash dieback sites must be done in accordance with the original planting model using an alternative species, if it was undertaken with Forestry Commission Scotland legacy grant funding. Grant support is available for the net area of ash served with a Statutory Plant Health Notice, i.e. if the original scheme was five hectares and ash was 20 per cent then one hectare will be funded. Grant support is based on stocking densities up to 1600 trees per hectare.
