Beef Efficiency Scheme - calving data for calves born 2 June 2017 and 31 December 2017, by 12 July 2018
The Beef Efficiency Scheme has a requirement for applicants to record the calving data for calves born 2 June 2017 and 31 December 2017 by 7 February 2018.
This is the same deadline for the recording of culling or death reasons for disposals.
ScotEID issued a reminder in mid-January and the BES Team issued a further reminder on 2 February 2018.
Despite these reminders, a large proportion of businesses have failed to meet the 7 February 2018 deadline.
Warning letters have been issued to these participants, and they now have until 12 July 2018 to provide the missing data.
The letters set out the number of animals where calving data is still required; and provides the number of animals marked as disposals, where no reason has been given.
We are aware that some animals that are categorised as disposals may in fact be admin moves, but we are unable to identify this from the reports that we have received.
The letter therefore advises participants with animals that fall into this category to contact us via the BES mailbox.
Participants now have the ability to rectify the situation by 12 July 2018.
Meeting this deadline will mean that no reduction will be applied to their 2017 Scheme payment.
