The Scottish Suckler Beef Support Scheme (SSBSS) 2024 application window will close at midnight on Tuesday 31 December.

If you have eligible animals, please submit your claim now. Online submission is the easiest and quickest way and it will help you avoid some simple errors such as claiming for an animal twice or entering an ear-tag in the wrong format. For assistance with your application, contact your local area office.

If you still wish to submit a paper SSBSS application you can drop it into your local area office letterbox. Please note, all area offices close on Tuesday 31 December.

Background

This scheme is worth around £40 million to beef producers in Scotland and provides additional support to help maintain beef suckler herds at a level that sustains the commercial beef industry in the country.
